2025 REX FOUNDATION GRANT RECIPIENT
Friends of Noise is a non-profit organization built on the values of collectivism and restorative justice. They seek to transform the culture of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth access to the music industry. They foster a healthy ecosystem for all ages to thrive by providing youth-focused programs, teaching industry skills, developing resources, mentorship and professional development. They meet young people where they are by facilitating opportunities for immersion into a safer arts community while uplifting youth voices.
Their current programming provides industry education via their Teen Music Biz Workshops, followed by artist incubation via open mics and by booking emerging and established artists to share the same stage at all ages concerts. They also have a Talented Teen and Live event services division to find paid opportunities for teens to perform at community events and for members of the Sound Squad Supreme crew to run sound and be the production crew for clients.
