More About the Evening…
The three sets of music each bring their own resonance and tribute to Jerry Garcia, Robert Hunter and the Jerry Garcia Band. The Mother Hips, celebrating their 20th anniversary as a soulful California rock and roll band, and well known for their extraordinary vocal harmonies, look forward to sharing their renditions of the music, including Tim’s inspirations from his recent tour with the Rhythm Devils.  John, Melvin, Greg, Robin and Sunshine are orchestrating a very special Jerry Garcia Band tribute set. And, Matt Butler will spice up the finale, adding his Merry Prankster spirit in with The Everyone Orchestra’s famed interactive improvisational experience to take the music to new dimensions and back.
Set up in festive cabaret style with reserved seating on the floor, The Fillmore, with its beauty and iconic connection to Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, sets the stage for this special occasion. At the pre-concert reception, enjoy hearty finger foods and beverages as you reconnect with friends and family. Your generous reception/concert ticket purchase of $200, $500, or $1,000, of which all but $75 is a charitable contribution, will fund Rex Foundation grant making.  As a special way to celebrate Jerry Garcia’s on-going community legacy, all of the American Beauty $1,000 tickets proceeds will be used to fund the Rex Foundation’s annual Jerry Garcia Award designed to honor and support individuals and groups that work to encourage creativity in young people. All American Beauty contributors will be acknowledged on our website as Award Funders, beginning with the 2011 Jerry Garcia Award. Consider organizing one or more tables of 5 and help us quickly fund the Award.
Join us on December 3rd as we come together to celebrate the music and the gifts of our collective energy.
