Back in the ’80s, John Schulze, a kid at the time, visited the Smithsonian Institution, which was then raising funds to restore the plane in which Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. He purchased the commemorative package the museum offered, which included a square of the original fabric.
Fast forward to today. Schulze, finding himself out of work and needing to downsize, has decided to part with his rare childhood relic–and is prepared to donate a substantial portion of the proceeds to the Rex Foundation. The item is on eBay through March 21–click here for details.
