At the Festival

The Grey Fox Educational Fund, Inc. (“GFEF”) is a charitable, non-profit, fundraising organization dedicated to the preservation of bluegrass music and related traditional genres by providing a variety of educational programs including instruction for children and adults during the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, scholarships for college students and community outreach activities.

GFEF was established to support the many hands-on learning programs offered at the annual Grey Fox Bluegrasss Festival.  In 1999 the Fund launched a Bluegrass Academy for Kids (BGA),  consisting of four days of intensive training in guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, bass and dobro.  Participation is free to any child between the age of 8 and 18.  As kids are taught to play and appreciate bluegrass, BGA strives to instill a life-long passion for music and to help preserve this American art form by passing the gift of bluegrass music on to the next generation.
