OHA participates in decisions involving the integrity, sustainability and prosperity of the community and the environment and takes decisive legal action when necessary to protect the Okanogan Highlands and other areas against environmental degradation.
OHA has been effective in stopping what would have been the first large-scale open pit, cyanide leach gold mine in Washington State, thereby empowering the conservation community and changing the way mining had been done nationally.
