Guitars Not Guns provides opportunity, encouragement and empowerment to at-risk and underprivileged youth by bringing classes into the neighborhoods where they reside.
Creative potential is tapped with a structured music program taught by caring adults in a safe environment, while instilling confidence and character necessary for students to grow into responsible adults and productive members of society.
The program is community based, providing alternative to the self destructive behaviors of substance abuse, crime and gangs.
The Rex grant is to support programs in Fairfax County, Virginia.
